ALL MY GIRLS HAVE AMBITION

Why Antipreneurship

I know, I know, great name I came up with. (though I am a bit worried about my dyslexic friends remembering how to spell it…)

Here, I aim to contrast the traditional entrepreneurial approach by challenging conventional notions of business success and growth - profit maximization, scaling, innovation, you get the gist.

The Bigger Why

Beyond emphasizing sustainable practices, ethics, and social impact over profit, one of my biggest goals here is to show people that it is possible to turn your passion into a career.

Some of us have heard this one many times (special shoutout to my first-gen/immigrant friends): “Artists struggle financially because art on its own does not provide a steady income. Artists only succeed after they die.”

I also want to help women with business because there’s still unfortunately a stigma surrounding that. Though increasingly more and more women prove it wrong (W). And you know what, I’ll be learning as I go, too.

Here’s another thing: I understand that college isn’t accessible to a lot of people, and I don’t think that a degree equates to intelligence by any means. Some of the smartest people I know either did not go to college, dropped out, or didn’t go the standard education route.

I hope that with this newsletter I’m able to help some people who don’t have the luxury of going to college but still aspire to be a business owner.
